CatCulate — Terms of service
Last updated 29 September 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and CatCulate when you use the app. We have tried to write them the way we would explain them to a friend. Please read them; by creating an account or using CatCulate, you agree to them.
Who we are
CatCulate is a small, independent app made and run by its founder in India. "CatCulate", "we" and "us" in these terms mean the app and the person who operates it. You can reach us any time at support@catculate.com.
What CatCulate is, and what it is not
CatCulate helps you plan and keep track of what your cats eat. It suggests daily meals and portions, keeps a record of meals, weigh-ins and notes, and points out patterns worth a closer look.
CatCulate is not a vet and does not give veterinary advice. It cannot examine your cat, diagnose an illness or prescribe a treatment. When something looks medical, the app will say so and suggest you talk to your vet — that is on purpose.
If your cat may be in an emergency — trouble breathing, collapse, repeated vomiting, not eating for more than a day, suspected poisoning, straining to pee — stop using the app and contact a vet now.
Who can use CatCulate
CatCulate is meant for adult cat owners. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age for using online services where you live, if that is higher) to use it. If you are under 18, please use CatCulate with a parent or guardian's permission.
Your account
You sign in with an email address or your Google account. Please give us accurate details and keep your sign-in secure — you are responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has got into it, tell us at support@catculate.com and we will help.
Your content
Everything you add — your cats' profiles, meals, weigh-ins, notes, and photos where the app lets you add them — belongs to you.
To run the app, you give us permission to store, process, back up and display that content, and to send it to the services that power features you use (for example, the AI that prepares your cat's plan). This permission is only for operating and improving CatCulate for you. It ends when your content is deleted, except for copies we must keep by law.
We do not sell your data and we do not show ads. Our privacy policy at catculate.com/privacy explains exactly what we collect, including basic usage and crash data that helps us keep the app working, and how we protect it.
Using CatCulate fairly
Please do not:
- break the law or use CatCulate to harm an animal or a person;
- upload content you don't have the right to share, or that is abusive or illegal;
- try to get into other people's accounts or data, or into our systems;
- overload, scrape, copy, reverse-engineer or resell the app or its food and nutrition data;
- use automated tools to create accounts or send requests in bulk.
We may limit or suspend an account that does these things, to keep CatCulate safe for everyone.
The food plan
Meal plans, portions, calorie targets and scores are estimates. They are based on published cat-nutrition guidance and on what you tell us — your cat's age, weight, activity, health and food. If that information is missing or out of date, the estimates will be less accurate. Every cat is different, so watch your cat and adjust with your vet.
Please check with your vet before following any plan if your cat:
- has a medical condition or has been given a special or prescription diet;
- is a kitten under 8 weeks old;
- is pregnant or nursing;
- is losing or gaining weight without an obvious reason, or has stopped eating.
Your vet's advice always comes first. You decide what your cat eats, and you are responsible for buying, preparing and storing food safely.
Services we rely on
CatCulate is built on Google services: Firebase and Google Cloud store your data and run the app, and Google's Gemini AI helps prepare nutrition insights. You download the app through Google Play, and Google Play's own terms apply to that. We are not responsible for services we do not control, but we choose them carefully and only share what each needs to do its job.
Price
CatCulate is free to use today. We may offer paid features in the future. If we do, the price and the terms for them will be shown to you clearly before you buy, and nothing you already have will be taken away without notice.
Changes to the app and to these terms
CatCulate keeps improving, so features may change, be added or be retired. We may also update these terms. When a change matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect and update the date at the top. If you keep using CatCulate after that, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, you can stop using the app and delete your account.
Leaving, and deleting your account
You can stop using CatCulate whenever you like. To delete your account and data, go to the You tab and choose Delete account & data. Your account is then scheduled for deletion and permanently removed 30 days later; sign back in before then if you change your mind. You can also ask us to delete it at support@catculate.com.
We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or if the law requires it. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to take your data with you.
Our responsibility to you
We work hard to keep CatCulate accurate and available, but we provide it "as is". We cannot promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted, or that every estimate will suit your particular cat.
As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or unexpected losses, or for harm that comes from following the app's suggestions instead of a vet's advice, or from information that was wrong or incomplete when you entered it. While CatCulate is free, our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to ₹5,000 (or, if you have paid us, the amount you paid in the 12 months before the claim, if that is more).
Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility that cannot be limited by law, or takes away your rights as a consumer under Indian law or the law where you live.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. If a disagreement comes up, please write to us first — most things can be sorted out quickly. If it can't, the courts in India will have jurisdiction, without taking away any right you have to bring a claim where you live.
